Cookies Policy

The second paragraph of Article 22 of Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11th July, on Information Society and Electronic Commerce Services (hereinafter LSSI-CE according to its Spanish acronym), states that:

1.    Service providers may use data storage and retrieval devices on recipient's terminals, provided that said recipients have given their consent, after being provided with clear and comprehensive information on their use, in particular on the purposes of the data processing in accordance with Spanish Law 15/1999 of 13th December, on Personal Data Protection. Where technically possible and effective, the recipient's consent to accept the data processing can be facilitated by using the appropriate browser or other applications' settings, provided that said recipient configures such settings during installation or upgrade through a specific action for this purpose. This does not prevent any possible storage or access of a technical nature for the sole purpose of transmitting a message via an electronic communications network or to the extent strictly necessary for the provision of the information society service specifically requested by the recipient.

As stated in the "Guidelines on the use of cookies," published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (hereinafter AEPD according to its Spanish acronym) in 2013, the LSSI-CE applies to any type of file or device downloaded onto a user's terminal for the purpose of storing data that can be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for the installation. The cookie is one such widely used device which is why, henceforth, these devices will be generically referred to as cookies.
Cookies used for any of the following purposes are excluded from complying with the obligations established under Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE:

⦁    Those which exclusively allow communication between the user's computer and the network.
⦁    Those which exclusively serve to provide a service expressly requested by the user.

A cookie is a small file stored on your computer when you browse certain websites. Cookies allow a website to, amongst other things, store and retrieve information about a user's browsing habits or their system and, depending on the information they contain and the way the system is used, they can be used to recognise the user.

As shown in the "Guidelines for the use of cookies" of the AEPD, depending on the purpose of the data collected through the cookies, we can distinguish between:

⦁    Technical cookies: These enable the user to browse a website, platform or application and to use the different options or services available such as, for example, controlling website traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, recalling the different elements of an order, processing the purchase of an order, registering for or participating in an event, using security features whilst browsing, storing content for video or sound broadcasting, or sharing content over social media networks.
⦁    Personalisation cookies: These allow the user to access the service with several general, predefined characteristics, according to a series of criteria on the user's computer, such as language, the type of browser through which the page is accessed, the regional configuration according to where the service is accessed from, etc.
⦁    Analysis cookies:  These enable their handler to monitor and analyse user behaviour on the websites to which they are linked.  The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure website, application or platform activity, for the profiling of user browsing of these sites, applications and platforms, in order to make improvements based on an analysis of how the service is used.
⦁    Advertising cookies:  These allow, in the most efficient way possible, the management of advertising spaces that the editor may have included on the website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency of the adverts.
⦁    Behavioural advertising cookies: These allow, in the most efficient way possible, the management of advertising spaces that the editor may have included on the website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information on user behaviour, obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which enables the development of a specific profile to show adverts relevant to the individual.

In accordance with Article 5 of Spanish Law 15/1999 of 13th December, on Personal Data Protection (hereinafter LOPD), we inform you explicitly, precisely and unequivocally that the information obtained through the cookies installed on your computer will be used for the following purposes:

⦁    To allow the user to browse the website, platform or application and use the different options and services.
⦁    To allow the web manager to measure the number of visits to the website and user behaviour, with the aim of improving said website, adapting it to the needs of the target public.

Recipients of the information obtained through the cookies installed on your computer are the following:

⦁    The website editor and data controller: FOMENTO DEL TURISMO DE LA ISLA DE IBIZA

Consent to the installation of cookies will be understood to be given by ticking the appropriate box accepting the "Cookies Policy" provided for this purpose on our website.

Where a user does not expressly consent to the installation of cookies, but continues to use the website, their consent will be understood to have been given and they will be clearly informed that it is possible to block or delete the cookies installed on their system through the browser settings.

Whilst the acceptance of the installation of cookies on your computer is optional, refusal to allow such installation can mean that website functionality is limited or unavailable, which would preclude the provision of our services through such website.

The user can, at any point, change the configuration, block or disable the cookies.  To this end, please find the instructions for the main browsers:
