Sant Joan de Labritja

The municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja , located in the northwest of the island, with an area of approximately  120 km2, and ecologically well preserved, consists of four parishes: Sant  Joan de Labritja , Sant Miquel de Balanzat , Sant Vicent de Sa Cala and Sant Llorenç de Balàfia , forming a series of small urban clusters of rural character.

Sant Joan de Labritja first and foremost presents a privileged landscape , which is made up of green hills dotted with an abundance of white farm houses, fertile fields and bays and pristine beaches that lie between rough and steep cliffs , a paradise for divers and lovers of hiking, walking and being in contact with nature .

The main tourist areas of the municipality are Cala de Portinatx , Port de Sant Miquel and Cala de Sant Vicent , which offer all kinds of services for visitors. There are also numerous coves of great natural beauty along the coast , where to enjoy tranquility and beauty , such as Benirràs, Cala Xarraca , S'Illot , Cala den Serra, Cala Moltons , etc ...

Our municipality also has several nuclei of great historical and cultural interest. The rural churches, monuments of great beauty, are characteristic of the traditional Ibizan architecture . They are ancient buildings of thick whitewashed walls, with porches sustained by arches and cobbled courtyards, and a small cemetery next to them.

The islands' gastronomy is influenced by the history of the Pityuses. The succulent dishes of the Ibizan cuisine are prepared with products that land and sea offer , and in the municipality of Sant Joan a great variety of good restaurants can be found.
