Six Senses Ibiza presents the I Triathlon of Senses

The event will be held on April 30 and underlines the commitment of the Cala Xarraca bay resort, inaugurated in July 2021, to sport in the Balearic Islands as a healthy lifestyle and a lever for deseasonalization.

The I Triathlon of Senses 2022 will count with the participation of the Olympic athlete Iván Raya as headliner.

Registration is open until April 27th.

True to its philosophy of inspiring a healthy lifestyle aimed at improving personal wellbeing in the physical, mental and emotional spheres, Six Senses Ibiza will hold the I Triathlon of Senses on April 30, a sporting event that will take place in the formidable facilities and surroundings of the resort located in the bay of Cala Xarraca, in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labrijta. The event, with a maximum capacity of 300 participants, includes Olympic, sprint and supersprint distance races, as well as a relay category (sprint and supersprint) and a children's category.

Participation in the race is open to anyone with or without a federation license. In case of not having a federation license, participants must have a one-day license that will be contracted with the organization. Registrations, already open, can be made online until April 27 and the same day of the race at the bib collection point, provided that there are places available. The registration fee is from 25 to 40 €, depending on the modality.

The Olympic modality includes a 1,500 meters swim, 40kms road bike and 10kms run. The sprint modality and sprint relay teams 750 meters swim, 20kms road bike and 5kms run. Supersprint and superstrint relay teams 375 meters swim, 10kms road bike and 2.5kms run. In addition, the race will incorporate yoga and meditation, presenting a new improved format aimed at merging the physical and spiritual dimensions of the sport, favoring an optimal state of mind and body at the starting line to cross the finish line in a better shape.

Traditional format enhanced with yoga and meditation


The I Triathlon of Senses will begin with a specific yoga warm-up session, followed by a guided meditation session aimed at bringing participants to an optimal state of mind for the competition. Then it's time to swim, bike, run and cross the finish line. After the race, the athletes will have a relaxation yoga session and a self-appreciation meditation session to close the race - not only a competition but also a personal challenge - with a celebration of sport, energy and mindfulness in a natural environment with a unique frequency.

Elite participants

The I Triathlon of Senses will count with the participation of elite athletes Iván Raña, world champion and double European champion in triathlon, as well as world champion in aquathlon, precursor and pioneer of triathlon, an inspiration for many generations of triathletes both in Spain and the world, now officially retired from competition; Indre Barkute, a Li- tuan athlete living in Ibiza and winner of important races on the island, ambassador of Triathlon of Senses; and Marjolaine Pierré, one of France's most promising athletes of the moment, winner of the silver medal at the French Championships at distance L in 2021. A luxury representation for the first edition of this new event that will enrich the sports calendar of the island, underlining the commitment of Six Senses Ibiza, also open in low season, with the deseasonalization and a healthy lifestyle.

Triathlon of Senses is an initiative of Six Senses Ibiza organized by Unisport Consulting and has the collaboration of the Ibiza Council and the Sant Joan de Labritja Town Hall.
