Hotel Mondrian announces opening of the 2024 season
  • Set among green hills and overlooking the crystal clear water of Cala Llonga, it is an ideal setting to capture the magic of the sunrise and moonrise.
  • Mondrian Ibiza opens its doors ready for a full season, with two exciting new dining concepts: the modern Japanese restaurant, Niko, and the relaxed, chiringuito-style restaurant Sonrojo.
  • Opening Sunday 28 April 2024

Mondrian opens its doors on the White Isle and will welcome guests for its first full season in Ibiza from 28 April 2024. The stunning new 154-room design hotel is located in the island's idyllic natural harbour, Cala Llonga. Mondrian is renowned for its presence in some of the world's most exciting destinations, making Mondrian Ibiza the ideal choice for those seeking a contemporary, cosmopolitan location surrounded by nature.

The hotel sits on the pine-covered green hills of Cala Llonga, overlooking lush vegetation and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. The Cala Llonga region is a must escape from the bustling tourist hotspots, yet easily accessible, with Ibiza Town and Santa Eularia just a few minutes' drive away.

The space has been designed by Beades Architects and Cuarto Interior to complement the island's exceptional topography. Guests are greeted with an immersive entrance that awakens all five senses, combining nature, art and design. Large glass windows provide a glimpse of the beautiful surrounding landscape. Inside, you can admire artworks curated by London-based collective Gone Rogue, selected to capture the essence of Ibiza, such as the sun and the moon, with pieces such as 'ASH' by Corine van Voorbergen and 'Kissing of the Sun and the Moon' by Lauren Baker. The sea is represented by Hannah Nijsten's 'Ocean View' in the Lobby Lounge. Art is part of Mondrian's philosophy. In 2024, guests will be able to enjoy an expertly curated programme of events that will bring together different creators and creatives on the island.

Designed in a spirit of refined simplicity, the rooms at Mondrian Ibiza offer an interpretation of the landscape using local raw materials reimagined in new forms: wood, leather, linen, stone or cement are the choice of finishes and furnishings. Emblematic pieces such as the natural leather headboards represent old Balearic furniture, and the wooden slatted wardrobes are inspired by the dry docks where fishermen stored their boats and utensils by the sea.

All rooms have a king-size bed, a terrace, a spacious bathroom and designer interiors that evoke tranquillity and comfort. The offer is extended by several studios with forest views and one-bedroom suites with separate living rooms. The sea view suites offer exceptional views of the coastline, and the Mondrian Panoramic Seaview Suite comes complete with a large wrap-around balcony.

The Mondrian Grand Suite invites you to indulge in the ultimate indulgence. A 62 square metre sanctuary with a spacious 80 square metre private terrace complete with day beds, a private cabana and an intimate outdoor dining area that combines luxury and total privacy.

Mondrian Ibiza and neighbouring Hyde Ibiza encompass seven food and drink concepts that will redefine the Cala Llonga dining scene. Two new restaurants will open in 2024: Niko at Mondrian Ibiza and Sonrojo, the latter located right on the beach.

Niko is a discreet Japanese restaurant meticulously designed by Cuarto Interior to infuse traditional Japanese and Mediterranean culture. The sushi bar, where diners can watch the freshly caught fish being prepared, is a work of art. It is made of natural stone with pieces inlaid throughout by Spanish artist Esther Rosa. Niko is a journey through the senses where top quality ingredients and exceptional presentation merge in a sophisticated atmosphere.

Sonrojo stands as a beachside retreat with a soundtrack of Balearic rhythms accompanying the beautiful coastline of Cala Llonga. Sonrojo serves delicious Spanish cuisine, including fresh paella and grilled fish, capturing the essence of the Ibizan lifestyle.

The Perq, Mondrian Ibiza's half coffee bar and half local market, brings a dose of metropolitan coffee culture to the bohemian island while Sun & Moon, Mondrian Ibiza's all-day bar, offers snacks and drinks with sea views as a backdrop.

Guests lounging by the pool can enjoy healthy, light snacks at Bungalow, a bohemian poolside bar with sun lounger service and a sushi and sashimi menu. And also the Mexican restaurant Cuyo, which is defined by humble, locally sourced and sustainable ocean-to-table fare, and a mezcal or tequila-based cocktail menu made with seasonal fruit and a list of natural and biodynamic wines paired with other bottles from iconic vineyards.

Mondrian is also family-friendly, with an indoor playground and children's pool. For guests to enjoy an authentic Balearic experience, Mondrian offers a jetty with public ferry access to Ibiza Town, Santa Eularia and the tranquil paradise of Formentera.

Mondrian Ibiza will open its doors to welcome the Ibiza summer from 28th April.

Mondrian Ibiza is now accepting bookings for the 2024 season. For guests looking for the best deals, Dis-loyalty, Ennismore's innovative travel and food membership, is offering members a 50% discount on newly opened hotels within its Collective, meaning guests can enjoy half price rates on all stays at Mondrian/Hyde Ibiza between 28 April and 28 July 2024.
