October, an intensely sporty month 🏃‍♀️

Year after year, October reaffirms itself as one of the most "sporty" months of the year in Ibiza, becoming the epicenter, among others, of various sports events classified as of insular tourist interest, such as the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza – Campagnolo or the Ibiza Half Triathlon.

The first event was the Posidonia Race on Sunday, October 1st, a double open-water swimming crossing that started at Cala d’Hort beach in Sant Josep. This event offers two routes, one of 5kms and another of 10kms. This year, around 70 participants gathered for the challenge.

On the weekend of the 13th, 14th, and 15th, taking advantage of the October 12th holiday, several highly relevant sports events were concentrated on the island. Starting with the IV Ibiza Wellness Weekend, organized by our product club Ibiza Health & Beauty, these days combined sport, health, well-being, healthy habits, gastronomy, culture... and set a record for participants.

Of course, we cannot fail to mention the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo, one of the premier cycling events, also classified as of insular tourist interest. This year's edition featured the participation of renowned cyclists such as Miguel Induráin, Alberto Contador, or Alejandro Valverde, all with palmares within reach of very few. Three days in which all the municipalities of the island were covered, forming a route of more than 200kms. A must-attend for bike enthusiasts!

Also during these days, the motor racing highlight took place in Cala de Sant Vicent: the 38th edition of the traditional Subida a la Isla de Ibiza, better known as Pujada a Sa Cala. A rally scoring for the Spanish Mountain Championship, which attracts more fans each year to enjoy a vibrant spectacle.

In addition, on the 14th, the XLI Cursa Toni Costa Balanzat was held in the city of Eivissa, starting from the Paseo de Vara de Rey and bringing together numerous runners who enjoyed a route of approximately 5.5kms through different points of Vila.

The following weekend, specifically on Sunday the 22nd at 8:00 in the morning, the Ibiza Half Triathlon kicked off, a race with hundreds of participants who had to complete a route of 2kms swimming, 90kms cycling, and 21kms running. This event was also the final of the Spain Triathlon Cup for Medium and Long Distance 2023, as well as a scoring event for the PTO (Professional Triathletes Organization) circuit.

The last weekend of the month saw the thrilling Ibiza Trail Marathon, a renowned trail running event at the Balearic, national, and international levels, which in this edition introduced three new distances (Starter, Medium, and Marathon) to give runners the opportunity to fully enjoy the event and the incredible landscapes of our island.

Undoubtedly, an intense month in which Ibiza has once again positioned itself as a unique and ideal tourist destination for prestigious sports events.

Although 2023 is coming to an end, there are still events to enjoy. Don't miss out!
