Sant Joan de Labritja

Sant Miquel de Balansat

Sant Miquel is the largest urban centre in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja. The village still retains a few of the older houses which sit amongst much newer shops and apartments. On the north edge of the village is the hill top parish church.

The church of Sant Miquel is one of the oldest rural churches on the island.
From the appearance of stronghold on the hill it can be understood that apart from being a place of worship it offered refuge to the faithful when enemy raids occurred.

In front of the church the statue of the Ibizan poet Marià Villangomez (1913 - 2002) can be appreciated.

The “Port de Sant Miquel” is a beach with a length of 110 m and a width of 68 m. Visitors will find the sand of the beach of a coarse grain type and encounter clear waters. In addition, this beach is immersed in a large natural bay which lies between two lush pine hills, with designated areas for the launch of fishing and pleasure boats. “Port de Sant Miquel” is a tourist resort. Very close to “Port of Sant Miquel” are some very attractive coves because of their virgin state, such as “Es Caló des Moltons” and “Es Pas de s'Illa des Bosc”.
